Captain OlimarI’ve wanted to host this challenge for 2 years <3 At final 5, we do not have immunity. Pichu, you are not able to compete in this challenge. Soz.
HOHPikmin are little creatures that do your bidding such as fight bad guys and solve puzzles.
For this competition, you have each been given control of 100 pikmin. When the challenge begins, I will post a bunch of numbers on this thread. Each number represents a box that could contain a number of things. Your job is to send your pikmin out and bring those boxes back to you.
Each box has a minimum number of pikmin required to lift it and bring it to you. Once the pikmin have successfully brought your box back, they will abandon you due to unfair working conditions and you will lose them, so be careful with how you split them up.
If a box requires 10 pikmin to lift it and you want to claim it, simply say so on this thread. “I send 10 pikmin to claim box 17” or something. Each box takes 60 seconds to get back to you. You may increase how many pikmin you send to cut the time in half, or to instantly get it.
Example: If Box 5 requires 20 pikmin, it would take 20 pikmin to get it in 60 seconds. 40 pikmin to get it in 30 seconds, and 80 pikmin to get it instantly. Following?
The time limit matters because you guys are able to fight for the boxes. Using the example above, if someone sends 20 pikmin to carry a box and that is the minimum required, you must match their total pikmin
and add 10. So after you send 30 pikmin to steal the box (as long as the 60 seconds have not passed) the 60 seconds start over with your timestamp and the pikmin are now carrying the box to you. If you steal someone’s box, you are treating it as if the minimum number required was 10 higher than it was originally. So the rules above about getting the box in half the time or instantly still apply.
Another example:
If box 3 requires 10 pikmin and I send 10 pikmin to bring it to me, it is mine in 60 seconds. But Spooky wants that box. He has the option of sending 20 pikmin to get it in 60 seconds, or he could send 40 pikmin to get it in 30 seconds. OR he could send 80 pikmin and steal it instantly.
I’ll give you a moment.
Now, let’s say I don’t like that Spooky is being a lesbian and stealing from me. I can attempt to steal it back by sending more pikmin (in addition to the 10 I already sent) to get it back, but I have to send 10 higher than him to get it in 60 seconds. If he sent enough pikmin to steal it instantly, oh well I lost it.
Once a box has successfully been claimed, all pikmin who were attached to it will leave. So if I sent 10 pikmin and spooky stole from me, he would get the box and we would both lose our pikmin.
So what the fuck is in the boxes? You’ll find out once you start opening them. But your main goal is to collect the letters that spell HOH. 2 Box’s have an H in them and 1 has an O. The first person to come into possession of all 3 will be the HOH.
You can die by running out of pikmin, so ration them well. If you collect 1 or 2 of the winning letters and die, the letters will be re-distributed into boxes still left in play.
If everyone dies, idk what we’ll do. It will depend on how many of the letters were found.
Trust me, you guys won’t be able to open all the boxes.
Answers to questions I am anticipating-You can
NOT recall pikmin once you have sent them out, even if it is apparent that you will lose them.
-You may distribute as many pikmin and claim as many boxes as you want in one single post.
-If two people send an equal number of pikmin to claim a box, the pikmin will move towards whoever claimed it first. This may happen if you guys post really quickly/ frequently and don't check each other before posting. I foresee a lot of lost pikmin because of this
- I will inform you of your winnings in your confessional area.
Ok, please please please ask any and all questions as soon as you think of them. When you fully believe you have a strong grasp of what the challenge will be please post so on this thread. I will be here to answer any and all questions and I think we'll end up pushing the challenge back a bit if needed.
